IE Corp. expands their reach in the Edge Data Center market with the acquisition of Baselayer.
Price, UT 02.24.2020 — The IE Corporation (ie-corp.com) continues its rapid expansion into the Edge Data Center market with the acquisition of Baselayer Technology, LLC (“Baselayer”). The purchase of Baselayer includes the Baselayer name, intellectual property, software, employees, and customer base providing IE a stronger foundation in the market.
IE plans to further invest in Baselayer by evolving the product line and offering customers the option of custom products. Since the acquisition, Baselayer has already begun to fulfill domestic Edge deployment orders for two new customers. Additionally, Baselayer has contracted expansions for their current client base, totaling $8.5M in business since January.

Baselayer’s existing installed base includes over 400 data center modules totaling 200+ MWs across North America, Europe and Asia. The Baselayer acquisition enhances IE’s expertise in Edge Data Center deployments, business development, “Runsmart” data center monitoring and management software, solution architecture, design, software, and field service groups. The existing Baselayer team brings decades of experience in the data center industry providing a valuable addition to IE Corp’s Mission Critical Business segment.
This is the first time IE has acquired another business since its founding in 1985. Having established themselves as a manufacturer of modular power and process houses for mining, utilities, renewables, oil and gas, IE expanded their business model to provide manufacturing for the ever growing mission critical and data center market.
